Lourdes Lorenzo García

Dr Lourdes Lorenzo García is Senior Lecturer at the Translation & Linguistics Department (Faculty of Philology and Translation, University of Vigo, Spain), where she teaches at the graduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. Currently, she is head of the Translation & Linguistics Department, as well as general coordinator of student internships and work placements.
She is co-founder of the Spanish Association of Research on Children’s Literature (ANILIJ) and currently acts as its treasurer.
She is a member of the research team on Anglo-German children’s literature of the University of Vigo directed by professor Dr. Veljka Ruzicka Kenfel. For over twenty years, her research has focused on Children’s Literature Translation & Screen Translation, and she has more than 70 publications in the disciplines of subtitling for the deaf and hard of hearing, dubbing and multimedia translation. She has taken part in 23 research projects either with Spanish or European funds. A sample of them are the following: “Traducciones / adaptaciones literarias y audiovisuales de El Quijote para niños y jóvenes en los sistemas lingüístico-culturales de Europa (I)” funded by the Spanish Goverment (Code FF12008-05298); “Creative Europe. European culture: a contribution for a New Narrative of Europe” by Jean Monnet Team Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA); and “Gender Identity: Child Readers and Library Collections” (583894-CREA-1-2017-1-IT-CULT-COOP1), coordinated by the University of Bologna.
